Zoos and aquariums and museums, oh my!

Denver has a vast array of fun exhibits to visit. Whether you're a teacher leading a field trip, grandparents babysitting or a group of friends venturing out for a fun afternoon, there's nothing better than taking alternative transportation to relieve the stress of getting there.

Denver Zoo

Although parking is free to all guests at the Denver Zoo, in an effort to reduce our environmental footprint, they encourage visitors to carpool, use public transportation or ride there on a bicycle. You can visit RTD Trip Plan to find a bus route that will get you to Colorado Boulevard and East 23rd Street. The route is a nice walk through the park that will get you to the front gates and avoid searching for parking spots.

If you want to ride your bike, you'll be able to find secure bike racks located in front of the main entrance.

Denver Museum of Naure and Science

RTD bus routes 20 and 40 are a perfect option for traveling to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. With stops along Colorado Boulevard and Montview Boulevard, you can skip the hassle of parking and driving. You can also travel to Union Station and transfer to the 20 bus if traveling from further out. Visit RTD's Plan a Trip to find your route today!

Downtown Aquarium

With the Downtown Aquarium's location, it's never been easier to leave the car at home and travel on bus, train or bicycle to enjoy life under the sea. Consider taking a light rail or commuter train to Union Station and hopping on a Veo electric scooter or bicycle for a scenic ride along the Platte River to the aquarium. Want to ride your own bike? There are plenty of secure bike racks available on the north side.
