Through a seven-week course, the Civic Academy introduces participants to important regional issues like transportation, economic vitality, housing, civic engagement and more. Formerly the Citizens' Academy, the program helps build the civic capacity of the Denver region's residents.
Each course includes weekly three-hour sessions consisting of lectures from local subject matter experts, small-group interactions and networking. In addition, participants develop individual action plans to put into place upon completing the academy.
Each semester, DRCOG adds more informed and active metro-area residents to the 800-plus-strong pool of Civic Academy alumni.
