Funding & project delivery

A Transportation Improvement Program project in Golden, Colorado.

DRCOG, in its role as the metropolitan planning organization for the Denver region, collaborates with local governments in the region to create the Transportation Improvement Program,  a four-year plan that implements the long-range Regional Transportation Plan's goals and identifies specific transportation and transit projects for which the region will allocate its federal, state and local funds.

Addressing transportation projects in the region also includes the creation of several set-aside programs. The set-aside program provide federal funds for non-traditional surface transportation-related projects.

Unified Planning Work Program is created every two years and lists all planning activities and tasks funded - in whole or in part- with federal dollars. The program also details other major planning activities from local governments and partner agencies.
