DRCOG serves as a forum for addressing regional issues and acts as an advocate for important regional issues through legislative and policy development activities at the national and state levels.
DRCOG's legislative activity is generally focused on the following types of issues:
- Proposals of special significance to the Denver region, or which would have a unique effect upon local governments in the region.
- Proposals that affect DRCOG as an agency or that would affect one or more of its programs.
- Legislation to implement DRCOG special task force recommendations.
DRCOG is especially focused on advocacy for the region's growing older adult population, and on addressing transportation and growth and development challenges.
