The region’s roads are the primary tool that connects everyone who lives, works or visits the area. DRCOG is committed to addressing traffic safety concerns affecting pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers to make the network of roads safe.

Achieving Regional Vision Zero

Vision Zero is a transportation safety philosophy based on the foundation that loss of life is an unacceptable price to pay for mobility. Transportation systems should be designed to minimize the consequences of human error.

Safety performance

Current federal surface transportation legislation directs the Federal Highway Administration's Highway Safety Improvement Program to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads.

Denver Regional Crash Data Consortium

Using a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, DRCOG staff convened regional stakeholders to understand how crash data is used and the challenges regional users face to access and interpret data.
