(Denver, Colorado) Smile, it's the 34th year of Bike to Work Day! The premier summer event for the Denver region returns on Wednesday, June 26. This year’s theme, “Pedal, Smile, Repeat,” encourages participants to turn traveling by bike into a healthy habit.

Organized by the Way to Go program at the Denver Regional Council of Governments, Bike to Work Day reminds residents and commuters that getting around on two wheels can have numerous environmental and health benefits while letting people move with a smile. Participants who pledge to ride on the BikeToWorkDay.co website are also eligible to win prizes, including the grand prize, a Tern P9 Quick Haul electric bike.

Join Way to Go and partners on guided group rides on June 26, including a ride to The Empourium Brewing Company to taste the official Bike to Work Day beer that launches on Bike to Work Day. Way to Go encourages participants to check the station map to help plan their morning and afternoon commutes. Organizations across the Front Range are offering refreshments and giveaways at hundreds of stations, encouraging riders to continue to “Pedal, Smile, Repeat!”

“There are many physical and mental benefits of cycling, so our theme this year truly highlights the joy of bike commuting in our region not only on Bike to Work Day but throughout the year,” said Way to Go Manager Nisha Mokshagundam. “And with more than 450 companies taking part in the Business Challenge, we’re thrilled to see employers also joining in to promote the benefits of cycling and improving our air quality.”

Bike to Work Day is a fun, free event that attracts thousands of participants every year. About 6,000 residents so far have pledged to ride on Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 26. You can join and pledge your ride on BikeToWorkDay.co.
