The Sustainable Affordable Housing Assistance Act (passed last year as Senate Bill 24-174) requires local governments to conduct and publish a housing needs assessment. However, local governments can comply with the requirement by using a regional housing needs assessment such as the one developed by DRCOG. To do this, they must hold a 60-day review period starting in July.

DRCOG staff will host a webinar on April 29 to help local government staff understand what's involved in the review period and how to use DRCOG's housing needs assessment to meet the state requirement.
