DRCOG awarded $4.5 million to assist service providers

DRCOG has been awarded $4.5 million from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services to bridge the gap between clinical and community service providers. Known as the Accountable Health Communities model, this innovative approach will strengthen the network of health and social providers to better assist Medicare and Medicaid recipients. Call for Applications for Regional Transportation Operations Pool Projects

DRCOG is announcing a call for applications for the Regional Transportation Operations Pool identified in the 2016-2021 Transportation Improvement Program. The purpose of the pool is to fund the implementation of technology and process improvements that enhances the capability of transportation operators to provide safe and reliable transportation operations in a well-connected region. 

Jennifer Schaufele resigns

Jennifer Schaufele has resigned her position as executive director of DRCOG, effective Friday, Feb. 17. 
During her nearly 13-year tenure she was at the helm of major regional advancements, including the redevelopment of Denver’s Union Station and lobbying for significant improvements to the Older Americans Act. She also galvanized peers across the nation to advocate for improvements in federal transportation funding.

New Land Use Explorer launches

The socioeconomic team at DRCOG has created a new tool to show forecast data created using UrbanSim. Forecasts from the model were used to create the DRCOG Land Use Explorer, where users can examine forecasts for multiple geographies including zones, municipalities, counties, and urban centers calculated at five-year intervals between 2010 and 2040.
