Boomer Bond wins national award

Our Boomer Bond program won an Aging Innovations Awards from the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a). The highest honor presented by n4a, this award recognizes programs that develop and implement cutting-edge approaches to support older adults, people with disabilities and their family caregivers. DRCOG's Director of Regional Planning and Development, Brad Calvert, accepted the award in San Diego at n4a's Annual Conference and Trade Show July 24-28.

DRCOG is proud to sponsor No Copay Radio, and to have various staff members of the Area Agency on Aging appear as guests on the program. Check out this source of information on health for older Coloradans every Saturday at 4 p.m. on 1430 AM, or check out archived programs here.

Visualizations show density, destinations of Bike to Work Day riders

Way to Go was lucky enough to partner with Strava this Bike to Work Day in order to create some visual representations of rider data to show the event's impact. Almost 10 percent of riders (about 3,000) used the Strava app the morning of Bike to Work Day, and GIS staff at the Denver Regional Council of Governments were able use that data to make this heat map and this interactive chord visualization showing rider routes.
