What is the Unified Planning Work Program and why does it matter?

All planning activities and tasks using federal transportation planning funding in the Denver region are listed in a document called the Unified Planning Work Program. The Unified Planning Work Program also lists the major transportation planning activities performed by local governments and partner agencies funded through other sources. DRCOG, the Colorado Department of Transportation, Regional Transportation District and local partners will collaborate to accomplish the planning activities. The Unified Planning Work Program shapes the planning work that the organizations engage in over the next two years.

The 2026-2027 Unified Planning Work Program covers the work proposed during the next two federal fiscal years (October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2027).
