More than a quarter century ago, Colorado Gov. Roy Romer led a consortium of U.S. governors to establish WGU. Earlier this year, Gov. Jared Polis signed a proclamation recognizing the WGU Colorado partnership – and the shared mission to increase access to education for students. WGU offers online degree programs in business, IT, healthcare and teaching that employers value. WGU has  alumni working at some of the largest employers in Colorado, including local governments. The programs are self-paced, and competency-based meaning they measure skills and learning rather than time spent in class.  This gives adult learners the opportunity to accelerate - saving both time and money.
