Denver region residents graduate from Civic Academy spring session

In June, more than two dozen Denver region residents completed DRCOG's Civic Academy. During the seven-week course, participants strengthened their leadership skills and increased their knowledge of civic issues affecting the Denver region, such as transportation, housing and economic vitality. Using a curriculum based on Metro Vision, the region's plan for livability, participants spent three hours a week learning from local subject matter experts and building relationships with other attendees. A highlight of the spring session was a field trip to the new Colorado State University Spur campus at the National Western Center. The academy is offered at no cost to participants. Since 2007, about 900 residents from around the region have participated in the academy.
