Board of Directors approves Unified Planning Work Program for the Denver Region

The Denver Regional Council of Governments Board of Directors at its August meeting approved the $18 million Unified Planning Work Program for fiscal years 2024-2025. The program includes more than 120 transportation-related projects funded by federal transportation sources. It also serves as the management tool for scheduling, budgeting and monitoring planning activities.

The plan outlines activities to be conducted from Oct. 1, 2023 through Sept. 30, 2025.  The program's fiscal year corresponds with the federal fiscal year because the federal funds are used to fund the program. The organization's fiscal year starts July 1 of each year.

The program was prepared with input from the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation District and local governments.

Key priorities include:

• Assisting with planning and implementation activities related to greenhouse gas mitigation and regional bus rapid transit.

•Updating or amending the Americans with Disabilities Act Program Access Plan, the Regional Active Transportation Plan and the Regional Multimodal Freight Plan.
