Denver Regional Crash Data Consortium

One car has crashed into the rear of the car in front of it.

Crash data is the foundation of transportation-related planning and policymaking in the region. Obtaining accurate crash data in a timely manner and sharing the data collaboratively with local governments, safety-focused interest groups and the public could lead to a reduction in serious injuries and fatal traffic crashes in the Denver region.

DRCOG is committed to improving the accuracy, use and coordination of crash data at the regional level. DRCOG has received a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 405(c) grant to research and demonstrate the importance of a regional crash data consortium. DRCOG will gather to convene regional stakeholders to learn how crash data is used and the challenges regional users face with the data. The information will be used to provide recommendations for sustaining the consortium and improving regional crash data records.

Anyone interested in participating as a stakeholder in the consortium, or would like to learn more or stay informed, contact senior planner Erik Braaten at ebraaten@drcog.org or 303-480-6711.
