Sheila Lynch joins DRCOG as the Regional Planning and Development director

DRCOG welcomes Sheila Lynch as the Regional Planning and Development director. Sheila brings to DRCOG more than 20 years of experience in promoting and applying planning innovations, securing funding to implement and sustain projects, pursuing continuous improvement of existing services and developing inspired and effective teams.
"I'm delighted to have Sheila as part of the senior management team," DRCOG’s Executive Director Douglas W. Rex said, "and I look forward to the cross-divisional perspective she'll bring to her work."
Prior to joining DRCOG, Sheila was the land use and built environment manager for the Tri-County Health Department where she led a diverse professional team that worked closely with local communities to integrate health and environmental considerations in planning decisions and development projects.
While at the Tri-County Health Department, Sheila led participation in development of DRCOG’s Boomer Bond assessment. For her efforts, Sheila received a Distinguished Service Award in 2019 and was a part of the team responsible for a Metro Vision Award-winning project in 2016 that included a health impact assessment as a part of the Federal Boulevard Framework Plan.
Sheila has worked in planning for the City of Lakewood, project-managing local land use entitlement processes and land development regulation updates.
