Transportation Demand Management Transportation Improvement Program Set-Aside

The Transportation Demand Management Services Set-Aside was developed to support marketing, outreach and research projects that reduce driving alone and ultimately reduce traffic congestion and improve regional air quality. The specific goals of the set-aside are listed below.
  • Reduce single-occupant vehicle travel
  • Reduce traffic congestion
  • Improve air quality
  • Pilot new approaches to transportation demand management
  • Improve awareness of and access to mobility options for people of all ages, incomes and abilities
The 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program policy establishes $2 million in federal funds for Transportation Demand Management non-infrastructure projects over the four-year period. The 2024-2025 call for projects will be $1 million.
 
Call for Projects:
Step 1 - Pre-application workshop and letter of intent
A mandatory online application workshop is scheduled for April 12, 2023 via Zoom. Following the workshop, interested applicants should submit a letter of intent and include contact information, a project description and estimated project cost. Supplemental materials will be accepted if materials contribute to the understanding of proposed project. DRCOG staff will review the letter of intent and, if needed, contact applicants to discuss the need for additional information or suggested changes. The review will include screening project proposals for eligibility requirements, potential partner identification and or project links and proposed project outcomes.
 
Step 2 - Full Application
Project sponsors will receive applications after the letter of intent discussion. *NOTE: The letter of intent will automatically download when the link is clicked. Applications can be submitted at any time to Communications and Marketing administrative assistant Madelyn Bjornholt at mbjornholt@drcog.org but are due no later than 5 p.m. June 2, 2023.
