Event Details
FHWA is pleased to share with you the details for the 2021 Update to the Focused Approach to Safety (FAS) that will take place on Wednesday, October 20 from 3:30-5:00PM Eastern.
Since 2004, FHWA has used the FAS to identify areas of opportunity and to offer priority assistance to select Focus States toward reducing fatalities and serious injuries on the Nation’s highways. Periodically, the FAS is adjusted and updated based on current data and program evaluation. The 2021 FAS is based on the focus areas of Roadway Departure, Intersections, Pedestrians and Bicyclists, and identifies 16 unique Focus States and a corresponding 23 regions/MPOs in those States.
Please forward this to your safety partners who may be interested in this information. An attached calendar appointment (2021_FAS.ics) should make it possible to save the webinar details directly to an e-calendar. However, if that doesn’t work, the details are also provided below. Registration is not required, and the webinar will be recorded and posted after final editing.
The release of a memo describing the 2021 Update and corresponding changes to the FAS webpage are forthcoming and will be available in time for the webinar.
