Aging Population by County

In 1990, on average, 10.4 percent of the region's population was age 60 or older. By 2014, that share increased to 18.9 percent, and by 2040 more than 24 percent of the total population will be age 60 or older. This graphic illustrates the aging population of each county in the DRCOG region. The radius of each circle represents the total county population, while the y-axis represents the population of people over 60, and the x-axis represents the percentage of people 60 and older of the total county population.
