Distinguished Service Awards

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes, honors and thanks people who have given their time, talent and skills to the Denver region, its communities and various DRCOG programs and activities. The 2019 honorees include:

  • Stuart Anderson, executive director of Transportation Solutions
  • Mac Callison, principal transportation planner, City of Aurora
  • John Cotten, public works director (retired), City of Lone Tree 
  • Susan Daggett, executive director, Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute
  • Karie Erickson, executive director, Aging Resources of Douglas County, Neighbor Network 
  • Don Hunt, former executive director CDOT, managing director Mobility Choice Blueprint
  • Mike Lewis, former executive director CDOT
  • Sheila Lynch, program manager Tri-County Health Department 
  • Carrie Makarawicz, assistant professor University of Colorado Denver
  • Kent Moorman, regional transportation engineer, City of Thornton 
  • Margaret Tomcho, pediatric director Denver Health, partner in Accountable Health Community program

The Metro Vision Award recognizes excellence, innovation, collaboration and leadership in problem-solving among communities and their partners. John V. Christensen Award
 

The John V. Christensen Award is DRCOG's highest accolade and has been presented since 1973. Established in memory of John V. Christensen, a DRCOG founder and Arapahoe County commissioner, it recognizes individuals who promote cooperation and collaboration for the benefit of the region. The 44th honoree is Cathy Noon.
