Ron Papsdorf joins DRCOG as director of transportation planning and operations

DRCOG welcomes Ron Papsdorf to lead the organization’s transportation planning and operations division. Papsdorf’s 25 years of planning and government relations experience will serve him well with DRCOG, having supervised, developed, and implemented innovative, multi-modal transportation plans, projects and policies.

“We’re fortunate to have Ron’s extensive experience and expertise, especially in these times where the transportation landscape is evolving at a rapid rate,” said Douglas W. Rex, DRCOG executive director.

Before joining DRCOG, Papsdorf served as the deputy director of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Office of Policy and Government Relations. During his tenure at CDOT, Papsdorf managed the organization’s federal affairs and local government relations for the Denver Metro area and the Western Slope. He also represented CDOT’s High Performance Transportation Enterprise at the state legislature.

Prior to joining CDOT, Papsdorf served in positions as the transportation planning manager and government relations director for the City of Gresham, Oregon, a Portland suburb. He also served seven years as senior transportation planner for the City of Scottsdale, Ariz.
