Public Hearing on 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

Notice is hereby given that the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. The hearing is an opportunity to comment on the draft 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and associated air quality conformity determinations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held virtually.

The TIP public hearing also serves as the public comment process for the FTA Section 5307 Programs portion of RTD’s Program of Projects (also referred to as RTD’s Mid-term Financial Plan).

This notice is issued Feb 10, 2021, by Douglas W. Rex, Executive Director, Denver Regional Council of Governments

Participate in the public hearing

DRCOG will hold a public hearing on the 2022-2025 TIP at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, at the DRCOG Board of Directors meeting. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held virtually. This page explains the TIP and describes how you can review and comment on the draft document.

What is the TIP and why does it matter?

Transportation projects funded with federal sources are required to be selected through a competitive, regional process.  Our shared regional transportation system affects all of us every day, and improving the system can improve our lives.  The TIP process selects and funds projects that are important and valuable not only to us as a region, but also important to each local government. It’s also how our region implements the fiscally constrained short-range transportation plan by identifying the federal, state, and regionally significant locally funded transportation projects planned for the Denver region over a four-year period.

The projects in this TIP have been carried over from the 2020-2023 TIP. DRCOG develops and adopts a new TIP every two years in order to keep the funding years of the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and the TIP aligned. When a new TIP is developed outside of the DRCOG Calls for Projects (only every four years), the projects previously selected automatically carry over to the new TIP based on the years the funding was programmed.
