  • Idea Exchange
  • Opinions on how to address traffic congestion in the Denver region are varied and plentiful. To put residents' opinions in context, this Metro Vision Idea Exchange webinar provided insight into systemwide congestion measures from DRCOG’s annual congestion report.

DRCOG planning supervisor Robert Spotts discussed the forecast for congestion out to 2040, strategies to improve system reliability and projects to optimize system capacity so goods and people can continue to move in, around and through the Denver region.

In this session, participants learned about data that informed the report, assumptions about regional congestion measurements and uncertainties in the forecast. They discovered how crashes, incident management, automated vehicles and micromobility devices like e-scooters and e-bikes affect congestion both now and in the future.
