DRCOG Honors Distinguished Service Award Recipients

Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) honored eight individuals with Distinguished Service Awards, presented during DRCOG’s annual awards celebration on April 25.

“As the Denver region continues to grow at a rapid pace, we look to leaders who embody a collaborative approach to addressing challenges and seizing opportunities,” said Doug Rex, DRCOG’s executive director. “Distinguished Service Award recipients exemplify this commitment.”

The following individuals were honored as 2018 recipients:

  • Karen Brown, member, Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging
  • Dave Evans, founder and chairman, Bike Jeffco
  • Michael Fitzgerald, CEO, Denver South Economic Development Partnership
  • Elizabeth Garner, state demographer, Colorado Department of Local Affairs
  • Jean Haynes, chief population health officer, UCHealth
  • Ted Heyd, senior planner, Atkins
  • Bob Manwaring, public works director, City of Arvada
  • Bill Sirois, senior manager of transit-oriented communities, RTD

DRCOG presents Distinguished Service Awards to individuals who make significant contributions to the Denver region and its communities, and to DRCOG’s programs and activities. The regional council has been honoring outstanding achievements for more than 30 years.
